  9.     INSTALLATION
  10.  
  11.     WARNING: DO NOT INSTALL THE SHAREWARE VERSION OF BOOK LIBRARIAN V2.0
  12.     INTO THE SAME DIRECTORY AS THE SHAREWARE BOOK LIBRARIAN V1.0-1.53.
  13.     IF YOU DO, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS YOUR V1.0-1.53 DATA FILES.
  14.     THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS YOUR OLD FILES IS TO GET THE
  15.     REGISTERED VERSION OF BOOK LIBRARIAN OR RE-INSTALL YOUR OLD PROGRAM
  16.  
  17.     THE REGISTERED VERSION OF BOOK LIBRARIAN COMES WITH A PROGRAM TO
  18.     UPDATE YOUR OLD FILES TO THE NEW FORMAT.

  20.     HARD DRIVE:
  21.     (1) Insert the Book Librarian disk into drive A or B. You should at
  22.     your hard drive command prompt (C:\> or any other hard drive letter design-
  23.     ation. (2) Type A:INSTALL or B:INSTALL (3) Press the ENTER key. (4) Follow
  24.     the on screen prompts and the program will be automatically installed on
  25.     your hard drive.
  26.  
  27.     If installing from a CD-ROM or Hard Drive directory change to the
  28.     applicable directory and type INSTALL, press the ENTER key and
  29.     follow the on screen prompts.
  30.  
  31.     FLOPPY DRIVE: REQUIRES A 720K FLOPPY OR LARGER TO INSTALL ON A FLOPPY DISK
  32.     (1) Obtain a formatted disk or format a disk to place the program files on.
  33.     (2) Place the program disk in Drive A or B. (3) Place the previously for-
  34.     matted disk in the opposite drive. (4) Log on to the drive that has the
  35.     program disk, if it is drive A, you should see the A:\> prompt. (5) Type
  36.     INSTALL and press the ENTER key. (6) Follow the on screen prompts.

  38.     If installing from a CD-ROM or hard disk directory, change to the
  39.     directory that contains the files and type INSTALL and press the
  40.     Enter key.
  41.  
  42.     START-UP
  43.  
  44.      To start the program after installation, type BL and press the ENTER
  45.      key. If the program fails to load perform the following to start the
  46.      program, log to the drive that holds the program files and type:
  47.  
  48.                             CD\
  49.                             CD\BOOK
  50.                             BL

  52.      Press the ENTER Key after each line above.

  58.                   * PRINTER INSTALLATION *
  59.  
  60.        The first time you use Book Librarian or if you change printers,
  61.        you must install your printer for use with Book Librarian. To
  62.        install your printer, select U)til from the Main Menu.  Then
  63.        select S)elect Printer from the next menu.  The menu will display
  64.        five selections. (1) Epson and Compatibles, (2) IBM Proprinter and
  65.        Compatibles, (3) HP Laser Series II/III/IV and Compatibles,
  66.        (4) HP Deskjet 500/550C, (5) Cannon BJC-600 and Compatibles,
  67.        (6) Generic, (7) TSC Printer.

  69.        To select a printer, select the highligted letter or use the arrow
  70.        key to move the cursor over the printer and press RETURN/ENTER.

  72.        Most non-laser and some laser printers are compatible with the Epson
  73.        or IBM ProPrinter.  If your printer is not an Epson or IBM Proprinter
  74.        check your manual, it is probably compatible with one or both.
  75.        Select the appropiate  printer.   If you have a laser printer, select
  76.        the HP Laser printer.
  77.  
  78.        If your printer will not work with any of the first five selections
  79.        then you should select the Generic Printer.  When you use the Generic
  80.        printer printer control codes are sent to your printer.   You will
  81.        not be able to print the Comprehensive and Index Cards unless you
  82.        manually place your printer in compressed mode prior to starting the
  83.        report.  Also the headings will not be printed in bold.

  85.        The final selection (7) TSC, is used to load a custom driver for your
  86.        printer created by TurboSystemsCo.  If none of the first three
  87.        will work with your printer then contact TurboSystemsCo.  We may be
  88.        able to construct a driver for you.  Please provide the manufactuer
  89.        and model number.

  91.        If you selcet one of the printers and the reports don't print
  92.        correctly, always reset or turn your printer off then back on
  93.        prior to trying another selection. NOTE: Laser, Deskjet and
  94.        the Cannon printers cannot print index cards in this version.

  108.      * The password protection feature comes in two versions, A and B.
  109.      Version A allows anyone to enter the program to view the data, but
  110.      must have a password to Add, Edit, or Delete data.  Version B requires
  111.      everyone to have a password to gain access to the program, however you
  112.      can still restrict certain individuals from the ability to Add, Edit
  113.      or delete data.  You can select the password version desired during
